THE HIDE

Well , that’s been another hot week here at the meadow hide. Hopefully we have a small rest bite with cooler weather predicted for next week and some much needed rain as well. One of the biggest challenges during warn weather is keeping the water levels in the paddling pool high enough. As I have previously mentioned it’s not huge , only 1200 x 1200 and relatively shallow to allow birds to safely bathe so it can evaporate very quickly.

We also have to carry all the water into the site which has its own challenges and whilst the paddling pool might be small in stature it still holds over 100 litres of water. So this week we have installed an improvised water harvesting system , very much home made but hopefully it will lighten the water carrying load.

Anyway here are a few of the latest images……….

  1. Each one is wonderful, but the first photo captivated me. The little bird seems engrossed by its reflection.
