THE HIDE – BLACKCAP

THURSDAY 18TH APRIL 2023

What a difference a few days makes. Another day here at the Meadow Hide and for once I’m bathed in lovely bright sunshine and a clear blue sky. There is still a nip in the air , it may be sunny but it’s definitely not quite tee-shirt weather yet , however compared to a cold wet day this weather is a whole lot better.

European Robin

Love is definitely in the air at the meadow. The Blue tits already have chicks and are busy collecting insects to feed their demanding young. And I managed to catch a pair of courting Robins. The female had just feed the male a spider , now that’s love !

All the usual suspects made an appearance today . One new arrival, a pair of Blackcaps. The Blackcap has been a regular visitor to the meadow and maybe these birds have returned after migrating south for the winter.
