THE HIDE – HAIL

The Hide , Saturday 23rd March 2024

Dunnock

What has happened to our lovely weather. Today it feels like a step backwards , near horizontal rain and hail storms coupled with a distinct drop in temperature. It feels like mid winter again ! And it’s had an effect on the wildlife. A very slow day with only the hardiest furs and beaks making an appearance at the Hide , and who could blame them ! Anyway despite the appalling weather i managed to fire off a few shots , here they are…..

European Robin
Blue tit

  1. In fairness isn’t that normal early springtime weather for the UK? I think it’s remarkable only because it’s followed such a blandly and consistently wet winter. If we still had the snows of yesteryear it would be less noticeable.

  2. Good stuff. The powerful hailstorm in London was a surprise, exiting an event yesterday afternoon. We didn’t think too much of the grey skies andit was a surprise.
