KIT BAG – VANGUARD SUPREME HARD CASE

Kit Bag – Vanguard Supreme 46d Hard Case

Vanguard is a global company that has been designing and manufacturing award winning tripods, bags, sporting optics and accessories since 1986. Now I have a confession to make , I absolutely love these hard cases from Vanguard , so much so I own four of these cases.  Super tough , solid and as  Vanguard states , the Supreme 46D as ‘virtually indestructible’, and frankly I believe it. The plastic outer shell is extremely resilient, the clasps close with a reassuring snap and there is provision to add a couple of padlocks is required.

The internal bag is roomy, well constructed and easily large enough to hold a couple of bodies and three or four lenses and still have room to spare. It’s also removable so it can act as a stand alone bag is required. Measuring 51.5cm (w) x 43.5 (h) x 22cm (d) and weighing 7.2kg. There are larger and smaller sizes of hard case in the supreme range but in my opinion both suffer from either being too heavy to lift or too small in size so I think the 46d is the ideal sized bag to store and transport your valuable kit in.

The Vanguard Supreme 46D is also built to survive changes in air pressure. A clever valve system at the front of the case lets air out if it detects pressure becoming too high, but also prevents air from getting in. This makes it an excellent prospect for frequent fliers. Seals around the edges also prevent ingress of water and six clamps around the outside ensure things stay shut.
