The Hide , Wednesday 22nd March 2023

Wild Boar , no not at the hide but whilst filling the feeder at the meadow hide I was reminded of a funny quote by Sir David Attenborough on Sundays episode of Wild Isles. There was a sequence in the programme showing how Wild Boar and Robins inadvertently work together and Sir David equated this to modern days and Robins following gardeners quoting “ to a robin a gardener is just a wild boar on two legs “ Well as I fill the feeders up today I’m being followed by two Robins , so you can draw your own conclusions.
It’s not been a good day for photography , mainly because I failed to react in time to developing events at the meadow. But that doesn’t mean it’s been a bad day . We have had a few rare visitors today , all a little camera shy. Firstly a Stoat. He was hunting through the undergrowth in plain sight for around ten minutes but alas no clear sight with the camera. Then for the first time this year , a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers . Again my reflects was way to slow to capture the pair , and the last visitor to escape the lens , a Kestrel drinking at the pond.
Here’s a few images I did manage to capture…..
