The Hide – Long Weekend

Wow , a long holiday weekend here in the uk and I’m greeted by a clear blue sky and unseasonable warm weather. And just to confirm the full on arrival of spring , my first sighting of my favourite butterfly the Orange tip. The meadow seems full of small courting woodland birds , most notably the Robins and Blue tits.
And its not just the wildlife that is bursting with life , everywhere i look there is new life and growth from the blossom and buds in the trees and bushes , the resurgence in the meadow with the grass and the first flowers that are starting to emerge , like buttercups and dandelion’s. It means the strimmer and grass cutters are going to have to make an early appearance here at the meadow !
The wildlife is all here in good numbers with Grey Squirrels , voles , Rats and Rabbits all enjoying theatrics sunshine. As mentioned earlier the Robins are here in good numbers , at least seven individuals and they are very active , particularly around the feeders. It looks like it could be another good year for Blue tits , once again a large number of individual birds making an appearance.
Completing the list today we have Great tit’s , Dunnock , Chaffinch , Wren , Chiffchaff , Blackcap , Wood Pigeon , Blackbird and Bullfinch.
