The Hide – Life

Slowly but surely the pools at the Hide are coming back to life , with more activity , larger numbers of visitor’s and a wider range of species making use of the water and feeders. The extra word and visits to keep the feed topped up are certainly paying off. Now all i have to do is persuade my new found friend to pose for the camera !

The new uncooperative visitors include a rather elusive pair of Redwings and a distant relative the Song thrush , both of which spent a fair amount of time hiding behind branches and foliage , obviously I’m not paying the correct fee for image rights. In the same uncooperative club we have the Goldcrest and Bullfinch , both experts in camera avoidance.

Still , looking on the bright side of life there were plenty of birds , happy to pose for me including the Robin gang , Blue tits , Great tits , Long-tailed tits , Chaffinch and Wren. Then we have a rather splendid male Great Spotted Woodpecker , a right show off and the star of the day. Finishing the list we have a Pheasant , Wood Pigeon and Squirrel.
