Gulls , 5 th March 2023
A new addition to my kit bag arrived on Friday and I have been desperately trying to escape domestic duties to give the lens a Canon RF 100-400 a quick test . One hour only ( the Sunday roast was already in the oven ) so it’s off to one of my favourite local spots , the lake at Mouldon Hill Country Park.
My initial view i, very positive. The lens is lightweight, has image stabilisation and seems quick to have a fast auto focus ,. Anyway this is only a quick blog and after more testing I will post a full review of the lens , here are a few photos from today of a Black-headed Gull……..( and I made it back for dinner with 15 minutes spare )

Quite a few – also getting used to the R7 too. But I like not having to lug 4.5 pounds of camera and lens
Absolutely, I still have a 5ds and l series lenses , I don’t miss the weight at all.
