I think it is what we call in German “Wühlmaus”, “vole” in English? They are so cute, but are digging in the flower beds.

Thanks Stella , I think it is definitely a vole , maybe awe call it a bank vole , just need to see the tail

Yes, that is the problem that one only can see the front, but the shape of the head and the ears ist quite unique, the other mice have more pointy snouts.

It’s so cute! Difficult to tell without seeing its actual size, etc., but my first thought was that it could be a vole, especially as the wood pile is next to water.
