Weekend Wildlife

It’s the weekend again , and time for another visit to the meadow hide with my wife Anne. Today’s main entertainment was provided by the Rat Pack . Talk about a bunch of clowns , their antics kept us amused most of the day , constantly bickering with each other , jumping here there and everywhere and pulling really comical faces . Which leads me nicely on to an article on the BBC web site. The 2021 Comedy Photography Awards.. Sometimes as wildlife photographers we take our self’s a little bit to seriously. So it’s good to see the lighter side , and if it bring a smile to your face , that can’t be a bad thing , can it ?

Anyway back to the serious days photography at the meadow . All the usual small birds in attendance today plus the woodpecker and a rather nice low level fly pass by two Red Kites ( it’s harvest time here and the farmer in the next field was out with the thrasher , which makes a lot of noise which then disturbed the nesting Kites )

We also had a very young male Pheasant, constantly calling for its parents, who eventually arrived to rescue the adventurous and lost fledgling.
