WEEKEND WILDLIFE

Weekend Wildlife from the Meadow Hide

I can’t believe it’s May already , this year seems to be flying past so quickly. Anyway it’s Saturday 1st May and another full day at the Meadow Hide. It might be May, but it’s still a cold start to the day , with a rather chilly 5 degrees, light wind and a touch of rain in the air.

It has been rather quiet at the hide , the paddling pool has its usual visitors . Robins , Wren , Blue tits and Great tits. Representing the mammals we have the Brown rat and Squirrel. Today’s star of the show has to be the Great spotted woodpecker, who seems to love our new post.

The meadow is now starting to spring into life with an ever expanding carpet of yellow flowers.
