BLACKBIRD

Lockdown wildlife watching in my garden has been a little frustrating lately, the normal abundance of birds has been sadly missing with only a few pigeons and doves for company most days. However yesterday’s wildlife watching was a great improvement. Yes we had pigeons and collard doves , and the usual late afternoon visit from our local female squirrel. But we also welcomed a jackdaw , couple of magpies , a gang of house sparrows, blue tit And great tit . Later in the evening the fox and hedgehog made their regular inspection tours, but for me the star of the show , and my favourite bird appeared. The blackbird. And it wasn’t just once , the male made several prolonged visits during the day.
